Chapter 1 - A Journey Through Business Hospitality
My time at Nova Scotia Community College studying Business Hospitality was filled with laughter and valuable lessons. Every day on campus brought new insights and unexpected adventures.
In our classes, we learned how to blend business skills with the art of making guests feel welcome. One class that stood out was our wine tasting session. It was meant to teach us about different wines, but I often found myself a bit too enthusiastic about tasting them. Let’s just say those afternoons usually ended with me feeling a bit more cheerful than planned!
The hands-on experiences were the highlight. We practiced managing hotel operations and organizing meals, which brought the lessons to life. It wasn’t always easy balancing assignments and internships, but with help from supportive professors and industry mentors, I grew more resilient and adaptable.
As graduation approached, I realized how much NSCC had shaped me. With a solid foundation in business hospitality, I felt ready to start my career. The lessons I learned about leadership and customer service continue to guide me today.
Nova Scotia Community College wasn’t just a school; it was where my passion for hospitality grew, and I made lasting memories. I’m grateful for the knowledge and experiences gained there, and I’m excited to make a positive impact in the hospitality industry, thanks to NSCC.
